Our New Grants Administrator: Rose Christiansen

By Rose Christiansen

This blog is estimated to take 1 minute to read.

A few years ago, a friend asked me the question, “If you could have any job, what would it be?” At the time I was a grant writer, so my response was that I’d love to be on the other side of grants – to work for a foundation and be a grants administrator of some sort. My friend pressed me further and said, “Be specific, which foundation?” I didn’t even hesitate when I said the Weitz Family Foundation.

I had been familiar with the foundation’s work for many years, having submitted a grant application to them early in my career. I remember being struck by how intentional the Weitz Family Foundation is about understanding the needs of organizations beyond just the grant dollars. Since then, I’ve kept up with their impact in the community and have been inspired by their commitment to equity.

Now, as you can imagine, I’m incredibly thrilled to join the Weitz Family Foundation as a Grants Administrator! In this role, I’m excited to use my grants management system knowledge as well as support a wonderful team dedicated to making positive change. I’m looking forward to learning and growing, both from my colleagues as well as the organizations and community members we partner with. As I begin this next chapter, I can’t help but feel there is so much to be hopeful for!
