Understanding the Grant Process
Wondering what our grant process is like? See below for our timeline that provides insight into how we operate from the moment applications open to when site visits occur. For those community based agencies with accessibility/language needs, reach out to our staff for accommodations.

Grant applications open every August for funding consideration the following calendar year.
We will host several online sessions for potential grantees to review the application process, timeline, and expectations.
Applications close in September.
Our team carefully reviews each application submitted.
Organizations are contacted for follow-up questions, if necessary.
Weitz Family Foundation Board of Directors meets annually in November to review funding recommendations.
All applicants are notiﬁed of their funding status in late November/early December.
Grant Agreements Sent Out
Grant agreements are sent out and, when signed by grantees, we will schedule a payment for the upcoming year.
Grant funding is distributed to each grantee throughout the following calendar year.
Staﬀ conduct site visits with current and potential grantees from January to June.
