RESET: A New Program for Nonprofits

By Diana Martinez

This blog is estimated to take 2 minutes to read.

If you work in the nonprofit world, you know burnout isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a reality. Long hours and emotional labor can take a serious toll on staff. And it’s not just nonprofits that see the problem—funders are noticing, too. A recent survey from the Center for Effective Philanthropy found that nearly 60% of foundations are concerned about nonprofit staff burnout, recognizing how widespread the issue has become.

RESET, a program of Omaha Integrative Care, helps nonprofit staff manage stress, foster well-being, and develop sustainable self-care habits. For years, it has worked with organizations using coaching, mindfulness, and experiential learning to create healthier workplaces. Through small group coaching, leadership support, and wellness practices like yoga and sound baths, RESET offers practical tools for workplace well-being.

We’re excited to support this vision by investing in eight grantees with 20 or fewer staff members to experience RESET at no cost. The program begins with a simple assessment to tailor services to each organization’s needs, ensuring meaningful and practical support. Over the course of a year, participating teams will have access to coaching and wellness activities designed to help them navigate the challenges of nonprofit work with more balance and stability. This is the first time we are piloting this offering, next year we will determine how best to scale opportunities like this for the future.

Applications open on Tuesday, February 18, with a brief leadership assessment required to apply. A staff assessment is also required, with a final submission deadline of March 7.

Organizations will be selected and notified by March 31, with program engagement beginning in phases from April to June.

For more information or questions about the application process, contact Ashley Harris, RESET Program Director, at a.harris@omahaic.com or join a virtual office hour on Friday, February 21, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM here.

As conversations about burnout continue, programs like RESET offer a tangible way for nonprofit staff to prioritize their well-being while continuing to serve their communities.
