Giving Feedback about GivingData

This year marks the second grant cycle during which the foundation has utilized GivingData’s platform, and as the inaugural Grants Administrator, this will be my first cycle in this role. Since starting, I’ve learned a lot about the system and have identified several features that can help streamline our internal processes—many of which had not been fully utilized before.
One aspect I appreciate about the GivingData platform is the robust support they offer. Just a few months ago, GivingData launched an “Ideas Forum,” creating a space for users to submit feedback and suggest feature requests to enhance navigation within the system. I already submitted a few ideas aimed at making the platform easier for our staff and I’m particularly interested in gathering suggestions that could benefit applicants and grantees.
To achieve this, I need your input!
One of my main goals in this role is to find ways to better support applicants and grantees. Having been a grant writer myself, I understand how challenging it can be to navigate grant portals—especially when you’re pressed for time. Now that our application period has been closed for some time, I’d love to hear feedback on your experience with the portal and the application process.
Whether you’re a new applicant this year or a returning grantee, please share your thoughts with me via email at rose@weitzfamilyfoundation.org. If you’re unsure what to include, here are some questions to consider:
- How easy was it for you to create a GivingData account?
- If you are a returning applicant, were you able to log back in without issues?
- Did you encounter any problems uploading documents?
- Was it clear how to complete the financial section?
- If multiple people were working on the application, did you experience any issues logging in and collaborating simultaneously?
- Did any error messages appear while completing the application? If so, were they resolved quickly?
Any and all feedback regarding your experience with GivingData is greatly appreciated. Later, I will share with you the feature requests submitted and any improvements made to the system.
In the meantime, here’s a quick tip: even though applications are closed, you can still log in to view or print a copy of your submission. Simply log in to the portal here: https://weitzfamilyfoundation.givingdata.com/portal/ and click on “Active Applications” to find the option to view or print your submission.
